Le bourg, 47110 Dolmayrac
The castrum of Dolmayrac is built on a rocky spur overlooking the Lot valley. In the Middle Ages, the village was protected on the point side by a fortified building containing two square towers 300 meters apart. Only one of these towers remains today. The tower of Dolmayrac, built at the end of the 13th or beginning of the 14th century, protects the village on the plateau side, where the natural defenses are less. The defense system included the preserved tower, the ramparts surrounding the village and a building at the tip of the spur. The first level is vaulted with a broken barrel vault in brick. The second level is vaulted with arches on brackets, with domestic fittings, windows, fireplace, sink cupboards, latrine. The third level terrace overlooks the valley.
