On the borders of Agenais and Quercy, 42 km from Agen and 45 km from Cahors, Tournon-d'Agenais, a fortified town labeled among the Most Beautiful Villages in France, is perched on a pech, a hill with steep sides in the Pays de Serres, between Lot and Garonne.
From a castle site attested at the beginning of the 13th century, a fortified town developed with its tall rampart houses, its orderly streets and its square of the corners.
From the public garden, an orientation table allows you to enjoy the panorama of the Boudouyssou valley. Tournon-d'Agenais highlights the old house of the Bishops of Agen called the Abescat, its 17th century belfry whose bell tower houses a lunar clock to follow the phases of the night star.
The city hosts traditional festivals such as the tourtière, a light, crispy dessert filled with apples or prunes flavored with Armagnac.
